Art Gallery
The gallery will be open during the entirety of the festival, with special happy hour events happening on Friday and Saturday from 5:00 - 5:30 pm.
We’re excited to be partnering with Betsy Spellman, who is helping us create a brand new art gallery experience this year titled Frameworks.
The gallery will be filled with still frames from the accepted short films. Each still frame will be printed, framed, and hung on display in the gallery located in the education center.
The name Frameworks comes from the concept of the Directors’ and the Cinematographers’ collaboration on each frame of a film. Often times we only see the moving pictures side of cinema but if you take a moment to slow down you can appreciate the work that goes into each frame.

Curator: Betsy Spellman
Betsy Beorn Spellman is an abstract expressionist painter who leans on intuition to create vibrant acrylic paintings that are filled with energy, movement and bold color.
She holds an art degree and masters in corporate communication from West Virginia University and worked as a graphic designer, then expressed her creativity in marketing.
In 2026, her work has been in juried exhibits including Oglebay Institute's CrossCurrents, Appalachian Roots & Radiance, Tamarack 17th Annual Best of West Virginia, The River, Parkersburg Art Center Biannual, and in a solo show: Intuition - Recent Paintings by Betsy Beorn Spellman, The Co-op, Morgantown, WV.

We’re honored to have ASC Award-winning, Academy-Award nominated, and Emmy-winning Cinematographer Curren Sheldon judging this years gallery. We felt it was important to have a judge who understands the composition of a shot and what goes into creating these individual pieces of art.
