Last Train from Clarksburg

Runtime: 19:38

The Locust Heights & Western Railroad made its first run on the property of Keith and Jean Mason in 1974. Powered by a coal-fired steam locomotive that Keith and his friends built in the Mason Machine Shop, the railroad continues to operate on Wednesday evenings to the delight of thousands of riders who appreciate this "best kept secret" of West Virginia's railroading heritage. This film was produced during the 50th anniversary year of the railroad, operated by more than a dozen volunteers and the Masons' grandson and daughter/son-in-law, who committed to keep it going after Keith died.
