Forget Pokemon cards. Students at one elementary school in Boone County, West Virginia still get excited for a playground toy their great-grandparents would have recognized — glass marbles . A short drive away, an Ohio River factory is also keeping the game of marbles alive — as the last industrial manufacturer of marbles in the U.S.

Zack Harold started his career as a newspaper reporter, where he honed his abilities as a writer and discovered a passion for chronicling Appalachian culture. He eventually combined that storytelling acumen with a lifelong love of cameras to create short documentaries that highlight the unique people, places and traditions of West Virginia.
